The University of Scranton conferred more than 890 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. Very Reverend Timothy P. Kesicki, S.J., president of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States, read the remarks of the principal speaker Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown, who was unable to attend the ceremony in person because he is undergoing treatment for a form of acute leukemia. Both Father Kesicki and Bishop Murry, in absentia, received honorary degrees from the University. Honorary degrees were also presented to Sister Ann Walsh, I.H.M., former CEO and current assistant director of Friends of the Poor; William Whitaker, founding president of the Washington Jesuit Academy, Washington. D.C.; and Cecelia Lynett Haggerty, Times-Shamrock Communications and former University trustee.

On May 24, 2018, Northampton Community College (NCC) celebrated not only the achievement of its students, but also the 50th anniversary of spring commencement ceremonies at the college. The Class of 2018 represents fifty years of NCC students overcoming obstacles and working hard to achieve their dream of a college education.

Adams, Ph.D., professor of political science, 26 students from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania took part in The State System Student Leadership Summit on April 24, 2018. The student-focused Leadership Summit provided a unique space for State System student leaders to develop and refine leadership competencies through presentations, breakout sessions, and networking. Each participant had the opportunity to build relationships with a diverse panel of Pennsylvania leaders from Governor Wolf's office, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, State System's Office of the Chancellor, and the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

The University of Scranton announces more than 1,600 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2017 fall semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence.

Students have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the Fall 2017 semester.

A total of 1,555 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Fall 2017 semester of the 2017-2018 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

More than 1,725 students have been named to the Fall 2017 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

Alvernia students named members of the university's women's soccer team in fall 2017.

A total of 419 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at the Winter Commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 16 at 9:45 a.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse. There will be 325 bachelor's degrees, 66 master's degrees and one doctoral degree awarded.

Beta Beta Beta, a national honorary biology society, has a three-fold purpose: the stimulation of sound scholarship, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and promotion of biological research. Its membership is reserved for students who have superior academic records, have demonstrated special aptitude for biology, and are enrolled in biology programs, including nuclear medicine, and genetic engineering. Some of the activities of the Club are tutoring, sponsoring lectures on various topics, maintaining the nature trail, and conducting guided tours of the arboretum. 2017-18 officers are: President - Nicole Raimondi; Vice President - Julianna Marotta; Secretary - Fernanda Culichia; Treasurer - Magdalena Dammer; Advisor - Jenny Hayden.

More than 800 students volunteered on Buffalo State's annual Bengals Dare to Care Day 2017. Students volunteered at a variety of community organizations as part of Buffalo State's commitment to community engagement.

Sixteen first-year students who led book discussions at Scranton area libraries as part of a first-year seminar course at The University of Scranton.
